Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program: Eligibility for Talent Representatives

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program includes $15 billion in grants to shuttered venues, to be administered by SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance.

Eligible applicants may qualify for SVO Grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount available for a single grant award of $10 million. $2 billion is reserved for eligible applications with up to 50 full-time employees.

Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG)

What is the Grant Amount?

Grant Award is Capped at $10 million and is based on 45% of gross earned revenue for 2019

At least $2 billion of the total program is reserved for eligible, small operators with up to 50 full-time employees

What are the SVOG General Requirements?

Applicants who applied for PPP First Draw and Second Draw after Dec. 27, 2020 are ineligible

Must make a certification of need noting the uncertainty of current economic conditions makes necessary the SVOG to support ongoing operations.

Applicant must have been in operation as of Feb. 29, 2020

Must have a reduction of at least 25% in gross earned revenue during (at least) one quarter of 2020 as compared to the corresponding quarter of 2019

Who Qualifies as a Talent Representative?

A person or entity that is an agent or manager, which may be:

70% of its operations must involve representing or managing artist and entertainers;

Must book or represent musicians, comedians, actors or similar performing artist primarily at live events in venues or at festivals; and

Such performers must be paid in an amount that is based on the number of tickets sold, or a similar basis (e.g. entrance fees)

Must be representing or managing two or more artist and entertainers
